Vengeance and Lunch }{ PM Renkhal to Join

Meanwhile, Renkhal was back at the lake, finally, and was staring down his drying clothes. This was not a good start of the day. He has no more rations, he ends up running into a bunch of weirdos, some random Hellhounds come out and he winds up covered in their gore, which in turn means he has to wash up himself and his clothes.

Sighing, he put down his pack and dug out his traps, pulling them free and staring at them. He really hadn't expected to need them until tonight, when he had planned to make it to the other end of the lake.

Renkhal looked west and grunted. Some plan that was. He didn't think that he might run into anyone else, which was stupid on his part. Though, if he was lucky he might lose them all here, and if he runs most of the way he might still make it to his destination on time. Or at least an hour or two later than he planned. Probably two hours.

He groaned and slumped to the ground.

It was hopeless.

And kind of lonely.

Renkhal looked back towards where he left the others.

[nickolas]

"SOMEONE BETTER HELP ME OR WHEN I GET DOWN... SOMETHING IS GOING TO DIE!!!"

Nickolas paled; she was scary when she got mad. He gulped and stepped closer.

"you no longer entertain me and you probably dont taste that good any way!"

Auron turned to toss Kagami at Nickolas, who dropped his sword to catch her. The momentum of the throw knocked him to the ground, but since he took most of the force he figured Kagami was probably okay.

YOU can have her! but you better keep her on a short leash Nickolas! and as far as I'm concerned. i have not done anything wrong!....you ....HUMANS have been trespassing on my forest!!! so i should have every right to eat you. I'm just being a nice guy... hmm where did Renkhal go... he was much more fun to be around." Nickolas looked at Auron as he finished his rant, specifically when Renkhal was mentioned.

"I think he went back to the lake. Something about his clothes or something," Nickolas answered. Then he turned to Kagami, figuring the worst was over now. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you? Were you hurt when he tossed you?"

[kagami]

"Oh no!" Auron said, way too sarcastically for Kagami’s liking. She was about to say something else when he added, "you no longer entertain me and you probably don’t taste that good any way!" That almost made her even angrier. Kagami was sure that even if she didn’t taste the best, she had to taste better than his own arm; that was just gross. She then felt his weight shift and suddenly she was airborne.

Kagami screamed as she flew through the air. She landed a few seconds later, realizing the landing was a lot softer than she had originally expected. Kagami looked down to see Nickolas underneath her. She was about to apologize when Auron started ranting, "YOU can have her! But you better keep her on a short leash Nickolas! And as far as I'm concerned, I have not done anything wrong!...you ....HUMANS have been trespassing on my forest!!! So I should have every right to eat you. I'm just being a nice guy... hmm where did Renkhal go... he was much more fun to be around." Kagami then realized she was still atop of Nickolas’ chest and stood up.

Auron should win a gold metal for pissing Kagami off so easily, and so much in only one day. “Are you done yet?” Kagami asked Auron in a smart-ass tone. “And for the record, no one keeps me on a leash! I am not anyone’s pet or toy!” She was an independent young woman and she had sworn off relationships because of that factor. Kagami didn’t like the feeling of being tied down, although she did like having companions; but as for what Auron said, that was a bit much for her to handle. Those words really hurt her.

As for the part Auron said about Renkhal, Kagami looked around to notice that he was missing. It must have happened while Auron was holding her upside down. Then Nickolas chimed in, "I think he went back to the lake. Something about his clothes or something," Kagami then remembered him saying the same and nodded her head once. Kagami turned away from Auron and began to walk away with her arms crossed in front of her, "Are you okay? Did he hurt you? Were you hurt when he tossed you?" Nickolas asked from behind her.

“No.” Kagami said simply. “Thanks for catching me though.” She didn’t know what else to say, but somehow she knew that she wasn’t going to be able to hide the hurt look on her face. “I’ll see you around sometime, okay?” Kagami said to Nickolas as she started to walk into the forest, tears rolling down her cheeks. Again, not wanting anyone to notice she wiped them away and drew her sword. She was going to need food soon, she was getting .

Nickolas watched Kagami start walking into the trees, gaping. He wasn't sure how to respond.

'I'll see you around sometime...'

What the hell? Nickolas picked up his sword and sheathed it before following.

"Hey, what happened to hunting together? Renkhal is expecting us to bring something back."

He caught to her.

"What's going on, eh? You okay? Are you sure that you weren't hurt?"

[kagami]

"Hey, what happened to hunting together? Renkhal is expecting us to bring something back." Nickolas said further behind Kagami. She could tell that he really wanted to go with her so she paused for a moment and waited for Nickolas to catch up to her.

"What's going on, eh? You okay? Are you sure that you weren't hurt?" Kagami truned toward Nickolas with watery eyes.

"It's hard to explain," Kagami started. "I'm not hurt because he threw me, I mean, I did land on you... are you okay?" She asked Nickolas.

"Yeah, I'm fine. You're actually pretty light, you know?" he answered. "I'm just worried about you, that's all. If it's not from being thrown, then what's up?"

[kagami]

"Yeah, I'm fine. You're actually pretty light, you know?" Nickolas said, and Kagami couldn't help but smile. "I'm just worried about you, that's all. If it's not from being thrown, then what's up?" Kagami wondered if she would be able to tell him a weakness of hers.

"Well," Kagami started, "I am just really emotional, but it had to do with Auron saying you need to keep me on a short leash." She admitted, "I mean I really like you, I just don't want to think of it like that. I like being on my own because I am indioendant, but I hate being alone. Which is odd and doesn't really make much sense. It just bothered me. Ya know?" Kagami explained the best she could to only hope he could understand. Although sense she was a girl, she didn't have to make sense to a guy. Kagami secretly liked that.

[nickolas]

Nickolas thought about that.

"It makes sense. I mean, er, I don't like being alone either. And I'd hate to depend on someone else, so why should you be expected to?"

He shrugged.

"It makes sense to me, you know? I have no intention of putting a leash on you, anyway."

[kagami]

"It makes sense to me, you know? I have no intention of putting a leash on you, anyway." Nickolas said to Kagami, she smiled, and was about to lean in and kiss him... but then she thought about it.

"So... lets go hunting?" Kagami suggested as she giggled to herself and then darted into the trees. Hoping Nickolas would soon catch up once again.

Kagami smiled, a moment passed. Nickolas swallowed; what was she going to say? He hoped he didn't make a fool of himself. The girls back home always said that when guys speak their minds they usually end up making fools of themselves.

"So... let's go hunting?" Kagami asked, giggling before running off into the trees. Nickolas just stared after her, not sure what just happened, but eventually shook it off and grinned before running after her.

"Oi, wait up!"

[kagami]

"Oi, wait up!" Kagami heard Nickolas yell behind her. She looked behind her and he was not close enough for her to see him. She looked up and into the tree she went.

She sat there, perched for a few moments until she saw Nickolas come from the direction she was origionally headed. He looked around for her and he walked just barely infront of her. "Watch out!" Kagami yelled as she jumped down tackling him to the ground. Kagami sat up laughing, she hadn't had that much fun in a while.

Nickolas kept going, though he had lost her a several feet back. For all he knew she had changed course. But, he didn't think she would just leave him behind, so he kept going.

"Watch out!"

Nickolas stopped and looked around; where was the voice coming from? It was definitely Kagami's...

That was when he felt something, or rather someone, tackle him, followed by Kagami's melodious laughter. He chuckled, glad she was enjoying herself.

"Having fun are we?" he asked, laughing.

[kagami]

"Having fun are we?" Nickolas asked Kagami, his laughter was almost enchanting to her. She stood up and then turned to help him up.

"I have to have some fun..." Kagami answered smiling. "Okay, lets get going," Kagami said as her stumache grumbled, "I am really getting hingry." She started off in the same direction then she turned around and took a few more steps closer to Nickolas. She grabbed his hand and started walking. "coming?" Kagami asked with a light smile.

[nickolas]

Nickolas smiled when Kagami took his hand and looked up at her.

"Coming?" she asked with a smile.

"Definitely," he answered, stepping up next to her.

[kagami]

"Definitely," Nickolas said to Kagami. She smiled and they started walking together.

After a few minutes of walking Kagami heard a rustle in the brush to the side of them. She let go of Nickolas' hand and pulled out her sword once more. She saw the shadow of something taking off in the other direction. She took off after it and realized it was a wild boar. She caught up to it and lifted her sword and brought it down on it's right hand leg. That stopped the boar enough to give Kagami time to bring her sword back up and with one fierce swing, the board head came clean off. She was very accurate with her strikes.

"Yayy!" Kagami said as she cleaned off her sword. "Now we can have some good food... we just need to start a fire. Should we take it back to the others?" Kagami wondered, then added, "If we do that though, we might have to fight Auron off for our food." Kagami said out loud, wondering if Nickolas was close enough behind her to hear.
