Vengeance and Lunch }{ PM Renkhal to Join

[nickolas]

As soon as Kagami released his hand, Nickolas pulled out his sling and grabbed a few stones as he kicked through the undergrowth in order to save the ones in his pouch.

When he caught up to Kagami, he was surprised to see that Kagami had already felled a wild boar.

"Now we can have some good food... we just need to start a fire. Should we take it back to the others? If we do that though, we might have to fight Auron off for our food," Kagami said as she cleaned her sword.

"I'm sure it'll be fine. Besides, Renkhal seems to be able to handle him, so maybe he'll keep him from eating the whole thing," Nickolas pointed out. "And, we might run into another animal on the way back."

Nickolas put up his sling and put the stones he found into his pouch as he walked up next to the woman.

"Or, we could go ahead and get the meat cooked or smoked, but we'll attract other predators and then we'd have to carry back pieces rather than a whole."

Kagami liked that idea a lot better, that way they would have time to just hang out. She was really beginning to like him, she hoped his feelings were the same. Although, she already knew they were. He wouldn't have done so much for just anyone... would he?

"We should just go ahead and do it ourselves now. It would make things easier on us in the long run. I think. Kagami replied Smiling at Nickolas. I am going to go gather some sticks for the fire. She began walking past Nickolas, and kissed him on the cheek and blushed. Then she quickly scampered off into the trees.

Kagami kissed his cheek, and his face at least equaled hers in redness as they both blushed. Kagami turned to do as she said she would, but Nickolas just stood there for a second as though in a daydream.

She just kissed me...

Giddy, he grinned and decided to start skinning and draining the boar, taking off his pack, pouches, and shirt before pulling a small knife from his belt and getting to work.

Kagami kissed me...

He paused, thoughtful, and then grinned again, chuckling a little.

Take that Jett!

He went back to work and moved the boar to the bushes and tying it in a tree to drain, wanting most of the gore to be taken care of before Kagami got back.

<< OOC: Okay, so I was bored and can't sleep (haven't been asleep since about noon yesterday) I decided to post a little something to give you another look into what Renk is thinking... >>

Renkhal finally got his traps set out, figuring that they wouldn't end up moving until morning anyway so it wouldn't be that big a deal if they sat out there overnight. Besides, he was going to end up checking them fairly regularly just so that tigers or bears or wolves didn't end up eating anything that got caught.

Now, he stretched and sprawled out on the lakeshore, prepared for a midday nap. No one had come by yet, which really shouldn't surprise him, but figured that it shouldn't take too long for Kagami and Nickolas to catch anything. And Auron probably went with them, meaning that it would take even less time. Though, if Auron was with them then they might take longer just because he'll end up eating the first thing they hunt.

Then there was Jett, the Night Elf. He really had no idea what to make of him; he certainly didn't act like most Night Elves, or most Elves in general.

Renkhal sighed. It would probably be rude if he let his own silly, unexplainable prejudices keep him from getting to know Jett. He had been willing to get to know Auron after all.

That Nickolas kid though... That one he was still having problems with. He wasn't good with inexperienced fighters and warriors and the like. And Nickolas was definitely still wet behind the ears in that aspect.

Not knowing what else to do, Renkhal just put his hands under his head and closed his eyes, falling into a light slumber.

[Kaia]

Kaia had been watching this... Renkhal for awhile now. She purred inaudibly to herself as she waited for him to fall asleep. Crouched behind a bush in her beast form, she peeked through the spaces between the leaves.

When Renkhal's breathing slowed to the pace of someone sleeping, she slowly began to itch her way closer to him. A master hunter, her soft padded feet were not heard at all. When she was close enough, she sniffed him and her eyes turned a bright blue. The sudden urge to take a nap with this man overwhelmed her. Kaia walked over to his side and curled right up next to him. She exhaled and began purring again. Satisfied, she let herself fall into a light sleep in Renkhal' warmth.

Renkhal opened his eyes a little later, and realized that there was an unexpected warmth at his one side. Peeking with one eye, he noticed a black cat looking creature next to him. Opening his other eye to get a better look, he realized she wasn't just a cat-like creature, she was a small panther.

"Well, when did you get here?" he murmured, partly to himself as he shifted to pet the fur on the head and neck. He studied her more closely, and saw gold markings on the coat. "Hm, that's strange. I've never seen a panther with marks like those before."

He looked around, hoping that the boy and the Elf woman were back with food. When the panther awoke, she might be , and although he didn't think she would attack him for food he still wanted to be sure. Seeing no one else he shrugged and continued to pet her.

[Kaia]

Kaia's eyes fluttered open from feeling Renkhal pet her. She started purring louder and turned her head to look at him, nuzzling further against his hand.

"Hehe, works every time..." She thought to herself.

She enjoyed Renkhal petting her silky fur a moment longer before taking a big stretch. Sitting on her haunches, she tilted her head slightly at him and let out a low friendly growl, her eyes a bright pale blue. Her coat almost shimmered a little in the small light sifting through the clouds.

Her tail flicked back and forth almost impatiently as she looked back over her shoulder for a second, as if also waiting for the food to arrive.

Renkhal watched the panther look in the direction he had been and smiled as he stood and stretched a little.

"My companions are sure taking their time," he said.

He picked up his mostly dry clothes from where he had laid them out to dry and changed quickly so that he could move easier if he wound up in a fight. After he was loaded up with his equipment again, he looked back at the panther.

"I suppose it might not be a bad idea to go looking for them, and when we return I can check the traps I set out. What do you think?"

[Kaia]

Kaia nodded her head in agreement before standing up. She gave him a look, as if to say, "Wait here, I'll be right back." and trotted back to the bush where she had been watching him.

She dragged a small pack out from behind it and carried it in her mouth back to Renkhal. Nodding again, she took a place by his side, nuzzling against his leg. Kaia looked up at him, then back forward and began walking.

A panther with a pack? That was... unusual. Still, he supposed it might make sense the more he got to know her, so he shrugged it off as she rubbed his leg and he ran a hand over her head before she looked up at him and walked forward.

"Would you like me to carry the pack for you?" he asked, walking after her.

[Kaia]

Kaia replied to Renkhal's question with a shake of her head.

She smiled inwardly to herself. "I'm... actually enjoying the attention from him..." She liked his scent.

She sat a moment beneath his hand, not quite sure what to do. Kaia hadn't seen his companions, so she really didn't know who they were looking for.

"I guess I'll just follow him..." Kaia thought, keeping her eyes on his.

The panther shook her head, and Renkhal nodded once to show he understood and led her through the trees. The question was, who would he find first?

He didn't know where the Night Elf was, nor did he know what happened to Auron. Nickolas and Kagami were supposed to be hunting, so finding them would be understandably harder, but Auron might be able to find them. He had a fairly good tongue to search for them. That just meant he'd have to find the snake man first, which was much more appealing than finding the strange Night Elf.

What was his name again? Renkhal mentally shrugged; it didn't matter. He would be reminded at some point, he was sure.

"If we find the snake man first, stay behind me. He has a habit of thinking about anything but humans as food," Renkhal warned his new companion. "I think I can manage to talk some sense into him before he tries anything, though, so there shouldn't be much to worry about. I just want to be cautious."

Disappointed in the humans Auron began to try to find something to entertain him self or at least to eat. he began walking towards Renkhal. He began to start yelling Renkhals name when suddenly he caught a scent...

"I.....hate....felines..."

Auron mumbled to him self figuring that the was one fairly close to Renkhal.

Auron started towards the scent knowing that they were headed in his direction he began to climb up a tree. He sat there in wait.

Eventually he saw his friend... Auron thought to him self... Oh NO! that smelly cat is going to eat my best friend! i cant let that happen... and look its like Renkhal does not even know its there!! with out hesitation Auron waited until the right moment to pounce as they began towards Aurons tree he jumped trying to land on the panther, but missing ever so slightly. Auron let out a ferocious roar at the creature. grabbing it by its tail he began to hurl the creature into a near by tree.

"filthly filthy filthy beast! Renkhal this thing was sneaking up on you! Dont worry thought because i got it now! get out of my forest!

He yelled his hood extending in its own way mimicking the movements of a cobra. He extended his hood and shoot out a green poison aiming for the cats eyes.

[Kaia]

"Hey!" Kaia screamed at the hooded snake-man. She whipped around to stare straight at Auron, "Don't. Ever. Touch. My. TAIL!" She stood up and her fur began to disappear as she transformed into a human. (OOC: Don't worry, her clothes transform with her. )
"How dare you!?" She shrieked at him.

Suddenly, she noticed Auron about to spit at her and she quickly lept into the tree before he did so, running across the branch. She dropped down between Renkhal and Auron and kept her back to Renkhal, as if to protect him.

"Stay away from this... this, beast! I'll protect you!" She told Renkhal.

Renkhal was surprised when Auron jumped out of nowhere and attacked his new companion, hurling her into a tree.

"Auron-"

"Filthy filthy filthy beast! Renkhal this thing was sneaking up on you! Don't worry though because I got it now! Get out of my forest!"

"But Auron-"

"Hey! Don't. Ever. Touch. My. TAIL!" Renkhal groaned. This wasn't going well. He looked at her, and was surprised to see her change form and was standing there on two legs now as a human. "How dare you?

Auron spit at her, and Renkhal was relieved to see that she avoided being hit. He looked up into the trees where she jumped up, and watched her drop between him and Auron.

"Stay from this... this, beast! I'll protect you!"

"Hold on a second, both of you!" Renkhal said, stepping up. "Auron, this is a friend. Don't attack her."

He turned to the panther, er... woman. "This is Auron, one of my companions. I'm very sorry about this."

Renkhal sent Auron a glare.

"Truce?"
