James noticed the scars, but realized that was a conversation or another time. "YEs, the kingdom of Glerinel is far different then here, I assure you. Everything has an element...everything belongs...except me..." he muttered looking away. Then he noticed the people staring and how Raine looked. Suddenly both pity and compassion raged through him like a tempest. He brushed some hair from her face and frowned whispering both to himself and her. "Your really caused pain by all this aren't you..." As she walked away James couldn't bear her pain. he didn't know why but he felt like he now had to do everything in his power to protect this woman. he did not know why, maybe he was trying to redeem himself, or maybe it was something about her, but he knew he would do anything he can. That is why he took a deep breath and faced the crowd... "Citizens of humble Tamasha Village. Relieve your concerns of the young lady. I am Pr.... Tekkarro from the kingdom Glerinel. And It is under official orders that this woman is now under the protection of the elven kingdom of light. You shall show her respect and compassion as much as any other fair citizen of this village, if not more. She is pardoned from any past wrongdoings, and any refusal to serve or help this woman will be punishable. She is not a monster. She is a young girl. She will be treated as such. Now spread the word and carry on with your lives." James closed his eyes from the muttering and whispers, no longer directed at Raine of course...but at him. He was no longer safe here. He knew that the royal guard would now find him. But he just hoped that his words would be effective. He joined walking alongside Raine, in silence.

Raine stopped and looked at him, wide eyed as he said all of this to the people.
Why did he...
He walked over to her and she followed him, worry etched on her face. "James you shouldn't have done that. What if the people after you heard that?" They were now on the outskirts of town getting closer to the forest nearby.
"Even though that was a reckless move, thank you." She turned to him, and gave him a genuine smile. The same one she showed the sunrise. She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek, walking ahead of him towards the forest.

James had felt cold as stone until that moment. He stood there on the outskirts as she walked ahead, both shocked and....somewhat pleased. He brought his hand to his cheek confused and shaked his head smiling and laughing. Gilashi simply snarled within his head as he began his rampage. "What the hell is the matter with you kid?! Now they'll find you! They'll take you back! What if they found a way to get rid of me?! I LIKE THIS BODY DAMN IT!!!!" James just ignored every single one of GIlashis statements and moved faster to catch up to Raine. It did not matter. he knew it was in his honor code, he would do anything and everything to protect this girl. That was his promise,w hat he planned to do. He smiled and admired her again as he caught up with her and laughed. "Yeah, was pretty stupid, but oh well. So where we going now?"

"Through the forest, beyond that I'm not sure. Wherever the wind takes me I guess. My mom used to say that a lot when I was little. To go wherever the wind takes you. Wherever you feel you need to be." She laughed a bit at this. "I didn't understand it much back then, but I suppose now it's easier to grasp." Realizing she was talking about her past, she turned to him. "Ah sorry, I don't usually talk about my past much. It's hard to remember. A lot of painful memories. Though I'm sure yours are probably just as if not more painful."
She started to walk through the woods, thinking of what to say next. "I don't mean to sound nosy or annoying. It's just that demon inside you, Gilashi right? How long does he plan to stay inside you? It must be hard being trapped a mortal body. You would think he would want to leave as soon as possible."

James smiled and looked around at the trees, the air uncommonly still. "Well i think the wind doesn't have much input at the moment, but let's continue anyway." he chuckled softly, removing his hand from the hilt of his sword. He felt at peace, safe for the moment. He watched her talk about her mother, and he too began to long for his. The only woman who had ever shown him care, love, or treated him as more than a beast. He nodded. "I understand it's difficult for you...but perhaps one day you will trust me enough to divulge our past to me, If I am deemed worthy of course."
Gilashi snarled in his head. "OH COME ON! LET ME KILL ER! HOW STUPID CAN SHE BE FOR CHRISTS SAKES!?" James just shook his head, mentally scolding Gilashi for insulting their friend. "Well....you see, it was a strange ritual..." James once again put his hand on the hilt of the beautiful sword, and drew it from it's sheath presenting it. "This was once my fathers...long ago, back when the world was young, there were eight elemental gods. They helped shape and create the world. But there were Four Elder gods who were disgusted by the inhabitants. EVen though they were creations of the Great Eight, they despised them for being weak and fragile. They attempted to destroy them the first time, at the beginning fo creation. They were sealed away within the Four Hells, each one deeper than the last. GIlashi was Third..." he frowned as Gilashi let out a laugh, proud of his power. James shook himself back to reality.
"Well, centuries passed, and each kingdom had grown. That is when another attack came. They destroyed every kingdom, and in the end all that was left was a ragtag group, all eight races huddled in one small camp. That is when the gods came. All eight Kings received a dream, sent from the gods. They were imbued with their power and marching off, they planned to attack. They returned, and only they know what truly happened. But from what we've been told from birth, they managed to cast off the Three demons, but they wanted to make sure that they could never come back. They only managed to capture one unfortunately...Gilashi. The absorbed him into this sword. but thy knew he would break free soon if they did nothing...so my father had to choose...Risk letting this menace out....Or find a host...one he believed strong enough to carry the burden..."
James removed what was left of the top of his armor, seeing as it was torn last night, and revealed a long black scar running directly through his chest, where his heart had been stabbed all those years ago by father. He hid his tears, holding them back. "SO he stays in me. Unless I tear out my heart, he will never be free and have my body. He will only temporarily escape in moments of high emotion...or high distress...." He put back on the top and kept walking, faster than usual, as if running away from the horrible story he told, or the horrible past he had lived. Though he had only told her part of his past, he still felt that pain that came with recalling tragedy..

Raine watched him go, trying to absorb everything he told her.
So, he can't escape unless James dies? How awful..... She looked at his back. She took a step to walk faster, when suddenly a whip of water appeared from the forest and wrapped around her body. She went to cry out, but her mouth was covered.
A figure emerged from the forest, holding up the captured Raine.
"Got you halfbreed." The woman's voice said without emotion.
"Mmmphhh!" Raine struggled to get control of her magic.
The woman who had long pink hair, and piercing red eyes looked at Raine. "No use escaping." She wore a blue short sleeved shirt and a black skirt with sandals. In her hair she wore a strange looking barrette with a blue jewel and almost a deformed silver wing coming from one side of it. Demons appeared from both sides of the woman. "Kill the boy." she ordered. They started to advance towards James.

James immediately felt a large group of auras, both frightening and powerful. he knew they could only mean one thing, another attack. He spun around, and in place of Raine were two more hideous demons. Though GIlashi fought to gain control, james grasped the hilt of his sword. There was no way he would allow GIlashi to gain that much power and so short a time. he would fend Raine himself, as he pledged. James flung himself forward, at the same time drawing his sword. He managed to slice one of the demons cleanly in half, as the other lunged at him from behind. James sidestepped and with one fluid motion also sliced off the demons Head. He looked around and spotted the source of the strange aura. He charged forward until he saw Raine int he clutches of the strange woman. He gritted his teeth and stood firm, raising the katana like blade behind him, the jewels glistening int he sunlight. The sword seemed to flicker black, and James's eyes began to glow a deep red as he growled. "Let her go! I swear If you let her go now, I will allow you to escape with your pathetic life. But I vow if you harm a hair on her head I will show you and the rest of your forsaken family a version of hell that you never dreamed possible!"

"Oh? This boy seems to have some power." The woman replied to herself. "Better take care of this fast." Her face remained neutral. As if she didn't care one way or the other. She held out her hands and more whips of water appeared. They started to slash at James over and over. "I'm sorry but she has to die." the woman's red eyes were dull and empty. Devoid of any life, even as she was attacking.
The whip of water began to wrap Raine tighter and she was starting to lose consciousness.

James gasped and try to dodge the water whips, but found them too fast. They stung his bare flesh, lacerating him in some places. His patience began to wear thin as he saw Raine fading and his eyes opened wide, the red blazing within. "Fine! I'll decide this for you!" He leaped forward with his sword, slicing through the tendrils of water, ignoring them. They no longer mattered. He only saw his target, and Raine. He would protect her no matter the cost. He sliced through te tendril holding her and pushed her away onto the ground behind him. He kicked the strange woman in the stomach to cause her to lose balance as he pressed his sword to her throat. "Now, Tell me, Why do you hunt this girl so? Why torment the innocent you foul wench?"

"Why? She deserves to die." the woman answered, she still showed no emotion, even with the blade to her throat. "If you want a reason your asking the wrong person. Mother, Laraine's grandmother told us all to kill her at whatever cost. She never told us why though." She blinked, and looked down at Raine. "However, once she heard that Laraine killed her father...Mother did get a little angry."
"Shut up Rio.." Raine growled, trying to get to her feet.
"What? I only spoke the truth. Killing your father, a demon of the Risk tribe is punishable by death alone. But grandma didn't say that was the reason she is being hunted." Rio shrugged. "Not that I care, Laraine should die because she's a half breed. A demon and a witch."
"I said shut up Rio!" Raine yelled.
"Oh, I think I made her upset." Rio's dead eyes looked at James. "What are you going to do now? Kill me? Not that it really matters. Laraine will die."

James took in all the information, blow after blow, as jolt after jolt hit him. He kept his calm, tried to, until he heard Raines frustrations and this woman taunting him. BEfore she could finish, his eyes glazed over and he hung his head, letting the hair cover his face as he peirced the demons throat with the blade. He cleaned the blood off with a quick swipe and sheathed it once more. He stood silent for a moment before walking back to Raine, offering a hand to her. "Are you alright?"

"I'm okay." She stood back onto her feet, not meeting his eyes. She wrapped her arms around herself, taking a few steps back. She gave him a soft smile. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to hide it from you, but I didn't know if you would continue to like me if you knew I was also half witch and that I killed my father." She took another step back, as if afraid of what he would do.
"I am something that was created between the war of the witches and the demons, something that should have never been born. But I guess demons and witches can fall in love. As silly as it sounds...but it doesn't matter. They were right, it only ended in tragedy..."

James raised Raines chin up using his fingers delicately, looking deep into her eyes, his face inches from hers. "Raine, none of that is your fault. I believe your a wonderful person, and I still...like you, nothing will change that. I do not know your reason for hiding it, or why you killed your father, but I hope you will one day tell me. I know you were born from strange circumstances, but I do not judge you for that. You should have been born, and you are. You should be glad you were born, because I am. We cannot help who we fall in love with, for that is the most powerful force alive on this globe. It wasn't silly. You were born. And that is only proof that love can create beautiful, wonderful things."

Raine's eyes widened a bit as he said these things to her. She blushed and smiled slightly. "There is a lot you still don't know, but thanks anyways James." She kissed him on the cheek once more.
Stop, stop saying the things he said.....it hurts too much
"Anyway, let's go before the demons find out you killed Aunt Rio. When the Risk family gets mad, they use every means to destroy the person. I guess now its too late for you to even escape." She grinned. "Now you are officially dragged into this mess." she laughed a bit and led him through the woods.

James felt the kiss once more, but this time instead of warmth, he felt ice. It was cold, meaningless now. She was acting so cheery, so contented. She would tell him nothing, even though he was now fully in this mess as well. It seemed to him like he was being to harsh, but he did not care. He continued to follow her, eyes blank, hair still over face, feeling empty as even GIlashi said not a single word before he stopped dead in his tracks. "If I am to keep traveling with you, I deserve to know the full story. Why did you kill your father, why are you being hunted. Who is the boy you talk about in your sleep?" he inquired, poised to stand firm until he got the truth
