James just stared at Dez, growling. "What the hell is wrong with you kid? What, some little punk paid to prey on innocents, is that what you are?" James went silent though when he mentioned Raine. His heart tore in two, for every single word he said was true. But as he walked away, James stared after him confused about what he could have possibly meant. He sat on a nearby stump, silently crying as He stayed up waiting till sunrise.

Raine had awoken when their voices rose. But she remained lying down, as if still acting asleep. Until Dez left and James sat down on a nearby stump, looking rather upset. She sat up as the sun rose and looked over at him, the sunlight reflecting upon her hair. She stood up and walked over to him, not saying a word.
When she got to him, she hugged him. "It's okay James." She had hoped her hug helped him calm down.

Dez had been walking through the forest for a good hour now, and he was very lost. Suddenly, after taking a few steps, he looked back at the palm of his hand. The D was there again. "No..." Dez began to panic. "No...no no no no NO!" He looked around. He had to get to someone, anyone, before he blacked out. Dez started to run through the forest, looking for some kind of shelter. In the flurry, he tripped, landing on his knees. Dez looked down at the ground, as he began to fade to darkness. He began to crawl, trying to find someone, something, that could help him somehow. Dez rolled around on to his back, looking up through the brush. Dez spoke the only thing he really could say now. "I don't understand..." Suddenly, the whole world faded to blackness, leaving Dez unconscious.

James sighed, leaning into the embrace of Raine, but still feeling empty inside. Dez was just another one,trying to harm Raine. And yet again, James had attempted to guard her only to end up almost killing someone. All this protection for a girl who did not give a second thought to him. He sighed again and looked off towards where Dez had vanished. "I suppose it is, for some. You are Safe, Dez got answers..." he said, as he got up and began storing away all their supplies getting ready for departure. He sighed and muttered, "but for me...love is still a distant dream..."

Dez's eyes opened. The trees swayed back and forth above him. "What the..." He looked around, he was still in the woods. Dez smiled to himself and sat up, checking the palm of his hand. The D had faded from a bright red to a dark, dead black, the inscription had expired, meaning he was safe for the rest of his life. Dez breathed a sigh of relief, and began to chuckle from sheer happiness. "I'm safe...heh...I'm safe!" He stood up and started to walk away, but stopped, and spoke to himself, smirking. "I need ta' save James....from himself."
