James frowned, looking around as they came to a halt. The sun had set quite a while earlier, and they had seen so sign of another town or village. he sighed scratching his head. "I am afraid we will have to set up camp here. We will finish our journey in the morning." he answered, as he went off to find wood.
James began making small lean to shelters and the like, while also starting the fire. The entire time he worked however, his eyes kept darting back to Raine, admiring her, bringing him both happiness and great sorrow. He sighed, trying to keep his mind on his work as He conitnued to set up camp. Finally he finished, as he sat on the ground inf ront of the fire.

Raine was helping set up camp and finally when they finished, she looked around. "Alright then. I'm going to take a look around James. I want to see if there is a stream nearby. I'm kind of feeling like I need a bath." she grinned.
"Sorry, about earlier James. I didn't mean to snap at you. I just, don't understand I guess why you were feeling so down about yourself. I don't want to hurt you and it felt like when I was talking about Danny I was hurting you for some reason. Anyway, I'll be back in a bit." She waved and turned to leave.

James smirked and forced a laugh slightly. "Don't be ridiculous. Danny sounds like he was quite the young man. I believe I was just jealous I had not the opportunity to meet him." he lied, waving her away as she went to find water. He sat and sighed, looking deep into the flame, searching for answers. "Flameng, god of Fire and Passion, why does the heart yearn so only for that which it cannot ever obtain? Love, such a foolish thing, and yet...my mind is clouded with its thoughts endlessly. Is my punishment for my past to fall in love with Raine only so we may part ways when my mission is accomplished? Please...give me a sign...will I ever compare to her lost love? IS there any way I could win her heart? Please show me a sign!" As a reply, the fire only grew and licked at James's face, burning him slightly. James shrank back quickly, sighing. "Yeah, thanks..."

Suddenly, there was the sound of leaves moving, and branches cracking. Then, silence. A voice, belonging to a young boy of either 14 or 15 years of age, spoke. "Aw thats not supposed to sound like that..." A branch fell, with the boy on top of it, landing right in front of James. The boy was small, skinny, and dressed in dirty rags. Physically, he was pathetic. He slowly looked up to see James. "Wow, surprised you didn't notice me up there earlier..." Acting surprisingly calm, the boy slowly looked around, checking his surroundings. "Oh I'm sorry, I guess I didn't introduce me self, now did I? I'm Dezlico, but just Dez will do." Dez stood up, brushing himself off. "Damn," Said Dez, looking up at the tree he had fallen out of. "That's a hell of a fall...well..." Said Dezlico, looking back at James. Dez's friendly, warm brown eye's were looking into James's cold, marble eyes. Smirking kindly, Dez held out his hand. "pleasure to meet ya, brotha."

Raine sighed, continuing to walk through the forest to find a river. She walked around, looking through the darkness and frowned. She knew it, he didn't love her. It must be a guy thing, she thought idly. Shaking her head, she tried to clear her mind of any thoughts.
As she walked through the woods her right leg stepped foreword, only there was no land.
"Kyaaa!!!!!!!" Raine cried out, falling straight down into the river she was searching for.
Splash!
"Ow....that hurt..." She looked at her clothes, now drenched. "Great Raine, just great..."

James leap back at the sound of another voice, and the second the branch hit the ground, his sword was drawn and a second from piercing the young boy's throat. As he began to speak however, James raised an eyebrow and sheathed his sword. THe boy seemed only a few years younger than he, and James was shocked by the boys strange appearance in the middle of the forest. James took the boys strange introduction and took his hand cautiosly as he shook it. "James...pleasure to meet you as well...but what are you doing all the way out he-" James was caught off guard by the loud splash. His mind and heart immediately raced back to Raine. HE looked toward the sound of the noise and ran off. "Stay here Dez, Ill be back...hopefully."
James expected another attack, or worse as he drew his sword reaching the river. he swore if anybody laid a single finger on Raine he would kill them int he worst way imaginable. Then he saw her and he stood puzzled. As he sheathed his sword, he chuckled lightly and walked forward. "Great, I thought you were in danger. Seems all I had to worry about was soggy demon." he joked, smiling kindly upon her. He extended his hand, as his heart beated faster as it had everytime he was around her since the moment he met her. "Come on, lets warm you up by the fire."

Raine looked up at James as he held out his hand, smiling. She looked up at him, drenched and smiled back. She reached out and grasped his hand, allowing him to pull her to her feet. "Sorry about this James." she apologized. "I was a little distracted I guess." She started to shiver and wrapped her arms around herself. "Ha ha, yeah I guess I should get by the fire huh?" She followed him back to camp.

James sighed following behind Raine, wondering why he couldn't stop admiring her ever dazzling beauty. As they got to the fire, he sat her down close to the fire grabbing her a long shawl of deep purple fabric wrapping her tight in it before stroking her hair. "There, just stay and get warm my dear." he smiled as he said. He looked over at the boy and his eyes widened as he remembered their guest. "This young man is Dez...he kind of dropped in on me....He has yet to explain why he is here though..." he explained as he sat by Raine, staring deeply at her, yearning for her obviously. He softly caressed her hair, feeling like he would do anything o care for her.

Raine blinked as James wrapped her in a purple cloth and sat next to her, caressing her hair gently. She blushed slightly as his hand touched her hair. She could also feel his stare on her. She turned to the newcomer and smiled. "Hey, my name is Raine, its a pleasure to meet you Dez, why are you all the way out here?" She wondered why James' stare was so intense.

Dez looked at James and then at Raine. "Nice to meet ya too, love. Alright. Heres the story. A while back I made a deal with some men that I could successfully kill some demon within 4 days. Sounded easy to me, go in there, kill her, and i get me money. It was NOT that easy. This demon was so hard to kill, because I couldn't even find her, she was too elusive, she hid in huge crowds of people and snuck away. Hell, she looked a bit like you, sista." He said to Raine. "So 4 days had passed by and I hadn't even found this demon let alone KILLED it! So, I guess SOMEHOW they got me up there..." Dez looked up at the tree he had fallen out of. "and I had been up there for about 2 days now..." Dez looked back down at Raine and smiled warmly. "So thats my story, you mind telling me what you two are doing all the way out here" Dez said looking at both Raine and James.

James's eyes widen at the mention of killing a demon, as they began to swirl and cloud, glowing red replacing icy blue. He stopped all contact with Raine immediately as he got up from his seat and crossed over to the boy. He quickly grabbed him by the throat, clutching it tightly as the moon showed the silver tint starting to affect James's hair. he stared madly with blazing red eyes, full of hells fury as He continued to choke the boy and he lifted him over the fire. The only thing going through his mind was protecting Raine. "Here's the deal, I'm protecting said Demon. You my friend, are a threat. Therefore, I recommend you getting out of here before I give you a one-way express ticket to hell!" he screamed, ass he lowered the boy low enough for the flame to lick at his feet.

Dez began to panic "NO! NO BROTHA WAIT! DON'T HURT ME PLEASE!" Dez kicked and struggled, gasping for air now. "I MEAN TO HARM TO YOUR LADY FRIEND PLEASE!!" Dez looked at Raine, searching for some kind of sympathy. "Brotha please I didn't mean to offend you at all! But you two are the only people I've seen for the past two days! You don't really want me to leave do you?!" Dez squirmed as the hot flames flicked at his feet.

Raine got to her feet as James grasped the boy by the neck and held him up over the fire. "James! James wait! Don't hurt him! he's just a kid!" The wrap fell to the ground as she grasped a hold of his arm. "James it's okay. Please put him down." She looked at him, pleading. "He said so himself, he won't hurt me. I want to give him a chance. I don't want anyone else to die because of me.." she said a bit sadly. She clutched his arm tighter, fighting back tears.

"No I think your lady is right, you shouldn't hurt me brotha!" Said Dez, trying to convince James. "I mean no harm to ya, I just was telling me story like i was supposed to! Hell I don't even know why your out here and I'm about to get tossed into a fire?! Please just give me a chance!" Dez noticed how tightly Raine was holding James's arm. "What are you his girlfriend or something?" Dez said to Raine.
