Serenity watched the whole thing with wide eyes. The bruises were starting to ache worse and worse. She couldn't hide the pained expression in her face. She looked at where Cadmus had run too. She couldn't see him anymore. 'Boy, he can run fast,' she thought. She looked at the man who had attempted to attack him, "Things just get better and better."

"Damn It to Hell." He said a loud. "He always just barely escapes"
He turned to the girl and stared. He looked her up and down, she didn't seem as if she was one of Cadmus's normal choice of friends. Then his breath started coming in gasp, he had used to much energy in that blast. It was an amautre mistake that he shouldn't have made. He looked to the girl "Who are you, you don't look like his normal choice of crowd." He said threw breaths of air.

Serenity smiled, "We just met five minutes before you showed up. Of course, I'm not his choice of crowd." Her tone was sarcastic and mocking. She slowly walked close to him. She cautious about this one. He surely wasn't human. "My name is Serenity. You are?" She could tell he was having a hard time breathing and she hated to do magic but it was also dark magic she hated to do. She raised her hand up a little from her side. A light blue beam shot into his hand. It was meant to corse through his body and even his breathing.

Laan accepted the magical treatment so she could also use magic. He let himself fall to the ground and he looked up at her. His silver eyes once again looked her up and down.
"Laan The Elf-Demon is my title." He said.
He looked out towards the lake and watched the still waters. It would take him awhile to find Cadmus again. But for now he would rest himself and start the search over.
"He was thinking of taking you with him." He said.

Serenity laughed hard at this, "I bet he was. He would love to have me as company." She paused, "On a serious note, he wouldn't of made it half the way to wherever he is headed." She face was serious and her green eyes were dangerous as she made this statement. "I would ask what your gripe with him is but then I'd have to care." She gave a small smirk.

Laan chuckled just a bit and stood. He looked the girl in the eye and smiled. He looked towards the skies noticing a storm was coming in. He summoned his staff to his side and used it to cast a shield over him in the girl to keep them dry.
"Yes you would have to." He said. "And you think you could have stopped him?"

Serenity said in a confident tone, "I know I could of. I don't think anything." Serenity looked at the sky, "So, you're setting off to find him? Want some company?" She smiled and then groaned in pain again. She waved her hand again and the pain subsided a little more. She looked at the bruises. She could easily heal them if they weren't given to her by her mother and dark magic.

Laan eyed each of the bruises on the girl. They seemed to be magical in a sorts, and magical wounds took a while longer to heal then normal ones. But how had she gotten them he found himself wandering. His silver hair moved a bit with the wind but soon stopped.
"Sure, But why would you help me?" He asked.
He went threw his robes and pulled out a small bowl. He placed the bowl on the ground and filled it with water. He traced his finger along the outside of it saying a few words. Soon a hazy picture showed Cadmus but quickly faded. In pure rage Laan picked the bowl and threw it into the lake.

Serenity smiled, "No need to get angry." She looked out at the lake to where the bowl had sunk, "I need to rebuild my strength and what better way to do it then go on a little trip?" She paused for a moment, "Besides, I can help you find him." She said in almost a whisper. She had never come across a elf-demon before. She thought it'd be an adventure while she was rebuilding he strength. Eventually, she'd be able to rejoin the resistance against her father and mother.

Laan just looked at the girl long and hard. It was a stare of death but it quickly went away. Help finding Cadmus would be very great. He looked to the girl and smiled "Maybe I can repay you someway, maybe you have something that needs to be done?"
Laan was starting to like this girl, she seemed promising enough. And he had a since he could trust her for a reason unknown. He wandered where this quest to kill Cadmus would take him to next. The rain faded away and Laan stopped the shield he looked towards the skies.

Serenity grew quiet for a moment, "I'll help you but forgive me when I say your help isn't needed right now." Serenity looked in Laan's eyes, "I don't think I trust you enough to tell you what's going on with me or...." She paused and pointed to the bruises, "where these came from." She smiled, "So, shall we go or do you have anything to add?"

"Understood." He said.
He shook his head and just looked around. He knew that Cadmus had to be miles away by now, the elf was fast and a great fighter. He didn't blame the girl for not trusting him not many people would. But perhaps one day she would.

Serenity started walked the path around the lake and back toward the villiage with Laan by her side. She touched her hand to the bruise on her shoulder, which for some reason, hurt the worse. The pain lessened again with her touch, She wished they would heal already. She looked infront of her at all the villagers and tourists. She sighed deeply and kept walking still having the slight limp in her step.

Laan walked behind the girl, he noticed she hurt. He looked around the village, their was no sign of Cadmus being here. He kicked up a cloud of dirt. He watched as the town people moved around minding their own. He looked to the girl.
"Don't see him do you?" He asked.

Serenity smiled, "Afraid not." She lightly blew into the air. Her eyes turned as black as night. She sighed as her eyes turned back to normal, "I don't like to use magic, just so you know. However, Cadmus is already at the far end of the village. He used some sort of stone to shield him from magic eyes. The stone is just not that powerful since I can see him." Serenity looked at Laan and smiled, 'So, what's your story?"
