the beasts in the forest (open)

Damien jumped, startled, as the little red furrball fell and lnded on the dragon's head. It slid down, landing on it's back, where it complained loudly to Derk. Strangely enough for him Damien fought the urge to laugh.

"Careful, little guy," He called to it as it curled up and fell, then bounded back on. "You might want to leave Derek alone.." He trailed off. Derek hadn't yet shown any outward signs of hostility, so maybe it would be okay. still..

"Come over here, you'll be safer," He called to it, curious as to what it was.

((I don't mind, but no one had posted on this thread for a while, and they might not start again. Just a fair warning. ))

Ki cocked his head to the side with a bit of curiousity, his golden eyes looking at Damien. "Ki?" Then he heard the invitation to come over, and he chirped. "Ki!" That was when it launched itself off of the dragon, using its tail, and landed on the ground nearby Damien, soon climbing up his side and nuzzling him with his face. He was in a rather warm mood, and always wanted adventure.

Damien flinched as the puffbal bounced over on it's tail and climbed up him. "I didn't mean on me," He muttered but made no move to shoo it away.

Damien eyed Samuel, then the dragon, watching for a reaction of any kind. The animal was certainly bold, that was made obvious by it's appearance on the Dragon's back. Ho hoped the dragon didn't notice.

((Allright, but if it doesn't pick up again, we can't continue, especally if the rest of the characters aren't posting.))

((Guys I am SO sorry for not posting in ages! I had major writers block for what to post and then sort of forgot....But now I am back!))

Samuel stumbled back slightly as the bright red ball bounced into the area and landed on Derek's back. He had to admitt, the creature was quite cute. And amusing.

He tilted his head to get a better look at it, jerking his head back as it leapt from the dragon's back and crawled up Damien. "I think it likes you." He laughed, watching it curiously.

Damien couldn't hwelp but smile at the cute red animal. "I think it just likes everyone," He answered Samuel.

"Wht are you?" He asked it. He didn't really know why he was asking an animal a question, it seemed quite absurd. But given the circumstances nothing was absurd anymore. and when he had alled it over, it seemed to listen.

it was night when shadow pervied the small band of people walking through the forest, he also saw that they were with a dragon. He smiled to himself and laughed a horrible laugh that echoed around the entire forrest. jumping from the tree roost he had and swirling around them laughing that evil parody of a laugh he landed in front of them.

he was tall thin, he had only the impression of a face with no nose,ears, or mouth. all he had were two red gleaming eyes with no pupils just red, but they shone with hatred and malice. he had only the vague shape of a human, he was really just a swirling mass of shadow that was formed into a humanoid shape. though where his feet should be there was only a mass of swiling vapor(black of course).

"It's cute. Reminds me of some sort of hairy mouse." Samual chuckled, limping towards it. He smirked as it nuzzled Damien's face, much like a cat. That settled it. The creature was half cat and half mouse. The thought made him laugh.

The sudden appearance of the man almost made him fall. He wasn't exspecting that at all. The shadow-man seemed hostile. He pulled his sword from its hilt and held it defensivly. If he'd managed to fight stuck to a tree before, then he'd do it again. Though he still felt helpless.

[Omio]

"Ki?" It cocked its head once more, understanding the human, but unable to answer in their language - since it never learned how to write. However, the cackle and a sight of a malicious spirit had him leap off of Damien, and coil up in a ball, rolling into a remote spot. After rolling, he uncoiled, and bounced at the shadow, coiling into the shape of a wheel, spinning insanely fast in the air. As soon as Ki got close enough, he let his tail fly out, using it as a whip.

shadow seemed to move his no existent mouth into a smile. holding out his arm black streams of darkness shot out of them. they wrapped themselves around their victims but not in a constricting manner just to hold them in place. they could easily brake out if they chose too.

shadow began to swagger tworads them his hand/claws at his sides lzaily swinging back and forth. he held himself as one who had already won the war

nuts, Damien thought to himself. More trouble. All from one little walk in the forest. The worst that had happened before was that some dog thing had given him a prety nasty bite. This time though, and the dam holding back misfortune breaks.

He struggled aginst the shadowy bonds and found them rather weak, he easily broke free. After lightlly touching the wound in hid side to check the wrapping, he drew his sword. He might be exhausted and wounded, but he never turned down the entertainment of a fight.

"Who are you, and what do you want?" He asked the shadow-thing, which looked vaugely human. He rather hoped Derek would step in and help. He was a dragon, after all, though he wasn't sure if a shadow could be hurt.

shadow stopped close enough that Damien could attack him easily, "I just want to set the world ablaze and watch it burn to the ground so that way i can build my own world upon it."

[Omio]

Ki whipped, twisted, and shook at the binds, and barely managed to break out, panting afterwards for a moment before skipping along the ground and whipping at the shadow with his tail.

Samuel felt the strands of shadow-ick matter wrap around him, restraining him from moving too much. He noticed both Ki and Damien break free then sighed, struggling to break free himself. He pushed out his arms, hoping he would be able to free himself without falling. Fail. He felt the shadowy restraints uncoil and himself drift backwards, hitting his head on the ground. He cursed and winced as he sat upwards, watching the shadow man.

Damien stared. "What the hell? Set the world ablaze to build your own?" He said in muted disbelief. Ordinarily this revalation would have shocked him, angered him. Now his emotions were dulled from exhaustion and stress.

"Why? And how to you plan to do that?" He experimentally slashed out at the shadow-person with his sword, testing if he could be hurt.

((None from me either-I sent him an email and everything...For now i guess just try to play around him?))

shadow used one hand to grab the whipping creature but miscalculated the sword, his arm was completley severed off. throwing the creature into a tree he screamed in pain and charged at the sword man swinging his good arm.
